The Run For Recovery 5K is a benefit run/walk to heighten community awareness about those recovering from alcohol and drug addiction and to raise funds to support the local STAR Council. The STAR Council (Solution Towards Addiction Recovery) has been quietly providing needed services to those families suffering from substance abuse challenges. STAR Council is a 501c3 charitable organization, primarily funded by contracts from Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and matching funds from United Ways of the supported counties. Run or walk this scenic 3.1 mile loop around 
Tarleton State University; see the growth and progress of this beautiful campus. September is National Alcohol and
Drug Addiction Recovery Month. Recovery Month celebrates the positive impact of treatment for addiction in communities
throughout the nation. September is set aside to recognize the strides made in treatment and to educate the public that
addiction is a treatable public health problem that affects us all. This vital observance lets people know that addiction can
be managed effectively when the entire community supports those who suffer from this treatable disease.

Race Information:

    Early Bird Rate: $20.00 (guarantees you a T-shirt)  
    After August 31^st the registration will be $25.00 (no shirt guarantee for registries in September)

 All Runner will Receive a $500.00 gift certificate compliments of Red Star WorldWear!   

Runners and walkers will participate in the 5k starting in front of Tarleton State Rec Center and will go on a 
designated route around Tarleton beginning at 9:00am.

Packets: Each participant will receive a bag containing a T-shirt & water bottles along with some other
goodies. Water will be provided on the day of the event.

Prizes: Every participant is entered in a drawing for prizes.

1^st place male participant will receive a prize

                                                       1^st place female participant will receive a prize

Course Description: Course starts and finishes in front of the Tarleton State Rec Center (Rome St.)
